LifePoint Names Victor Giovanetti Eastern Group Chief Operating Officer


Brentwood, Tenn. - LifePoint Hospitals® (NASDAQ: LPNT), a leading hospital company focused on providing quality healthcare services close to home, today announced that Victor Giovanetti, FACHE, has been named Chief Operating Officer (COO) of the company’s Eastern Group of hospitals, effective July 22, 2013.  In this new position, Giovanetti will become part of the Eastern Group executive leadership team, which oversees the operations of 17 hospitals in Tennessee, North Carolina, Virginia, and Michigan, including hospitals owned by Duke LifePoint Healthcare.

Giovanetti has more than 25 years of management experience in operations, legal, financial, clinical and strategic aspects of healthcare administration.  He joins LifePoint from HCA Lewis-Gale Regional Health System in Roanoke, Va., where he served as president.  In this role, he created and managed an integrated healthcare delivery system with four hospitals, two regional cancer centers, six outpatient centers and a multi-specialty group practice with 135 employed physicians.

Before joining the Lewis-Gale, Giovanetti served as COO and CEO of Southern Hills Medical Center, a 120-bed medical/surgical hospital, in Nashville, Tenn., and prior to that he served in operations management for HCA’s Mid-America Division.  Earlier in his career, Giovanetti served in various management roles with HCA, Symbion and other healthcare organizations in Georgia.

A fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives, Giovanetti earned his MBA from University of Dallas in Irving, Texas, and his B.S. in business management from Berry College in Rome, Ga.
